They think it's all over, it is now!

What a good night for football as the Bundesmachinen finally grinds to a halt proving the old adage, Neve depend on Four Spring Lahm Technique.

Oh dear I seem to have won and am feeling enormously guilty, not!

Spain by a long chalk

Okay, with 1 game to go its still neck and neck mainly because those bloody hopeless Russians couldn't score a single bloody goal. It looks like this then, green font are still contenders for 1st place, greens and pinks are in with a shout for 2nd place and blue is in with an outside chance of second place.. Third place will definitely be from the above. The booby prize will be winging its way to one of the red fonts at the bottom.

What a load of Ballacks

Farewell then to the Turks, who at least entertained and surprised us. I thought for a while that they might just turn out to be the Greece of 2008. Having burst my coupon in victory so many times this tournament, they've done it again, this time in defeat. The boring Teutons march onward despite being frank, absolutely rubbish. Klose has been crap all tournament, Lahmm may have scored to wrap thing up tonight, but as a defender he was downright dreadful. On that carp it's time to look at the third last table. Its still tight at the top but by my calculations, the winner or joint winner has to be one of those in the green font zone below.

Petr Cech - Best Goalkeeper in the world

Can you believe that, 2 tournaments in a row they have flattered to deceive. Damn them, they are just pish. Come on Turkey at least you have spirit if not million dollar footballers.

Oh and those million buck Portuguese mess up against the Cuckoo Clock Makers, how funny was that? Not expecting big scores tonight then and definitely not getting them. Only 2 points between EVERYBODY, that is an upset, but doesn't change the table much, it looks like this:

P.S. If nobody makes a comment soon, I won't be scoring this at all and you'll have to wait till the end to find out what happens!

Orthodoxy

The Greek former champs sail home, the Russians live to fight another day. Spain manage to win the group in the dying seconds of the game leaving Sweden to square up to the Russians for the remaining place. Not the best of nights for visual entertainment, but for points its equal highest scores since Portugal v Turkey, 34 in total. So whilst I'm in Statto mode lets see how well Teams are doing shall we?

Farque Orff

If only Mutu had done less coke and spent more time practising penalties, the Azurri would be on their way home. Great pity. And then there was a real display of football from Les Bleus and Die Oranjein. I don't really like them but Holland are prettty fucking good. France were a completely different side from the one who played Romania. Just maybe they can get their just revenge for the World Cup against those cheating Italians.

Very low scoring night for everyone except Steven Love who clearly knew that thos cheating Azurri were going to struggle. Do I not like them or what?

Typical Germans, start off strongly and then balls it up against Eastern European opposition

Slavan Bilic celebrates the Ustase's victory over the Germans. Fools, don't they know it was a clever German ploy so that Germany would meet the Portuguese in the Quarter Finals and Croatia would have to meet the more dangerous Czechs. Pah Germany will kick those snivelling sand-dancers off the park.

Anyway, the leaderboard still has Mr MacLiver up front, but after a succesful evening of a full 6 points he's now being chased by ME ME ME!

Swiss go home early (Well they would if they weren't home already)

Missed Portugal and Czech Republic, apparently though the score doesn't give any indiacation of the game. Portugal , Pah wait till they meet a proper hard team, that'll be fun watching those little sand dancers roll on the turf!

Normal service will resume as osoon as possible, however there was another final happening last night and this prat won!

Anyway clear blue sky, unlike that in Basel last night, at the top means the table now looks like this (Please note though that Hayley and Kenny Cassels predictions need to be updated I haven't had time yet to put them into the spreadsheet from the weekend) :

Craig MacLiver takes the lead

Swedish fans are delirious as they manage to overcome the mighty Greek champions.

There will be no mention of Herculean endeavours, Achilles' heels or Sandals in what was a pretty drab game by all accounts (Actually I fell asleep during the first half and missed the second half on account of the F Word, but think that was a good thing. Spain on the other hand were a far more entertaining side, so that makes maybe 3 so far.

Leaderboard now looks like, this:

Craig MacLiver 13

Sacre Bleu! The Future's Orange!

Coupon busting night as Les Bleus contrive to be utter pish whilst shortly afterwards, those cheating Azzuri are given a good hiding by the Dutch Total Football Machine. Silvio Berlusconi, Luciano Pavarotti, Benito Mussolini, Giacomo Puccini, Gino Di Campo can you hear me? Your boys took a hell of a beating!

Materazzi blissfully unaware of the fact that the blind tattooist he frequents is in fact the cousin of Zinadine Zidane.

So the bit you are looking for is how the leaderboard looks after tonight's games. Not much different from last nights to be honest:
